**Thiruvananthapuram, January 1, 2025** – Renowned musician Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri has been awarded this year’s Harivarasanam award, announced the Kerala State government. The award, presented annually on Makaravilakku day at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam, includes a ₹1 lakh cash prize and citation. Minister V.N. Vasavan cited Namboothiri’s significant contribution to popularizing Sabarimala and Lord Ayyappa through his music, as well as his achievements in screenwriting and acting, as reasons for the selection.
