**New Delhi, January 1, 2025** – India’s Defence Ministry announced Wednesday that 2025 will be designated the “Year of Reforms,” focusing on modernizing the armed forces and bolstering inter-service cooperation. The initiative aims to create a technologically advanced military capable of multi-domain operations, incorporating emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, hypersonics, and robotics, as well as strengthening cyber and space capabilities.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that this initiative will lay the groundwork for significant advancements in India’s defence preparedness, ensuring national security and sovereignty in the 21st century. A key element of the reforms will be the establishment of integrated theatre commands to improve joint operations among the army, navy, and air force. The decision was made at a high-level meeting chaired by Mr. Singh.
