**Machilipatnam, January 1, 2025** – Krishna district police reported a significant call volume and a relatively swift response time in 2024, according to Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao. Speaking at an annual press conference on Tuesday, Rao revealed that the emergency helplines, ‘Dial 100’ and ‘Dial 112’, received 24,659 calls, with an average response time of 10 minutes.
A total of 9,719 cases were registered throughout the year. This included 1,073 cases of bodily offences, 713 property offences, and 980 crimes against women. The police also registered 10 digital arrest cases, 30 involving investment fraud and job cheating, 14 related to social media offenses, and 2 OTP fraud cases. The figures highlight a busy year for Krishna District police, showcasing both the volume of calls for service and the police department’s efforts in addressing a range of crimes.
