**Bengaluru, India (December 30, 2024)** – The South Western Railway (SWR) is deploying a special train to accommodate the anticipated surge in passengers traveling to the Kumbh Mela. Train No. 06216, a one-way Mysuru-Lucknow Junction Express, will depart Mysuru on December 29th and arrive in Lucknow on December 31st. The train will make numerous stops en route, including major cities like Bengaluru, Pune, and Bhopal. Detailed schedules are available on the Indian Railways website and app.

To manage the expected increase in passenger traffic following the Christmas holiday, SWR will also operate three round trips of a special express train between Hubballi and Kanniyakumari. These trains will run on specific dates in early January 2025.

Meanwhile, South Central Railway announced the cancellation of several trains due to operational constraints, affecting routes between Tirupati and various destinations including Hubballi and Kadiridevara Palli. The cancellations will be in effect from late December 2024 to early March 2025.

Finally, the Railway Board extended the operational period of the Vijayapura-Mangaluru Central Daily Express Special until June 30th, 2025 (outbound) and July 1st, 2025 (inbound), extending its initial schedule that was set to end on December 31st, 2024, and January 1st, 2025, respectively. Passengers are advised to check train schedules and plan accordingly.
