Mon Dec 30 02:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Pushpa 2 Continues Box Office Domination, Nearing Baahubali 2’s Record

**Hyderabad, India –** Allu Arjun’s *Pushpa: The Rule* continues its phenomenal box office run, defying expectations in its fourth week. The film saw a remarkable 42% surge in collections on Saturday, raking in ₹12.5 crore (approximately $1.5 million USD), bringing its total domestic gross to a staggering ₹1141.35 crore ($138 million USD). This impressive performance pushes the film’s worldwide gross to ₹1719 crore ($209 million USD), rapidly closing in on *Baahubali 2*’s lifetime earnings of ₹1788.06 crore ($218 million USD). If it surpasses this figure, *Pushpa 2* will become the second-highest-grossing Indian film globally, second only to Aamir Khan’s *Dangal*.

The Hindi version has been a key driver of the film’s success, contributing an estimated ₹741.15 crore ($90 million USD) to the total. The Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions have contributed ₹322.23 crore ($39 million USD), ₹56.3 crore ($7 million USD), ₹7.57 crore ($0.9 million USD), and ₹14.1 crore ($1.7 million USD), respectively.

Despite a slight dip in collections mid-week, the film’s overall performance remains exceptional, highlighting the enduring appeal of Allu Arjun’s portrayal of Pushpa Raj, along with the strong performances of Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. The film’s gripping narrative has resonated strongly with audiences nationwide.

However, the film’s success has been overshadowed by controversy. Allu Arjun recently appeared virtually at Nampally Court in connection with a stampede at a Hyderabad theatre during a special screening, resulting in one death and critical injuries. The actor was reportedly present at the venue when the incident occurred.
