**Melbourne, Australia – December 28, 2024** – Nitish Kumar Reddy made history today, scoring his first ever Test century in the fourth and final match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The 21-year-old batsman achieved this milestone on the Boxing Day Test, becoming the youngest Indian to score a century on this particular day. He reached the landmark score of 100 runs off 171 balls, including nine fours and a six.

Reddy, playing in only his first Test series for India, came to the crease at number eight and played a crucial innings, helping India to a first-innings total of 354/9, still 120 runs behind Australia. His performance follows impressive showings in previous matches, showcasing both batting and bowling talent. He is now the third Indian batsman, after Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal, to score a century in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

Remarkably, Reddy’s century is also the highest score by an Indian batsman in a Test match in Adelaide, surpassing Anil Kumble’s 87 runs in 2008.
