**KOCHI, December 28, 2024** – A wholesale vegetable dealer was attacked and robbed by a motorcycle-borne gang in Chengal, Kalady, Kerala on Friday evening. Thankachan, the victim, was stabbed in the abdomen while riding his scooter, sustaining injuries described as stable. Police believe a pepper spray was used during the assault, recovering a bottle at the scene.

Thankachan claims ₹32 lakh was stolen, though police are verifying this amount. He regularly took the same route to his employer’s home to deliver daily earnings, according to K.V. Poulachan, a local ward member. The investigation is ongoing.
