GURUGRAM, INDIA – Four men have been arrested by the Gurugram Crime Branch for the murder of 19-year-old autorickshaw driver Ashish. Ashish, a resident of Bhangrola village, was found dead on December 22nd in a green belt near the Dwarka Expressway in Harsaru village. He had suffered head injuries and his neck had been slashed.
The accused, identified as Brijesh alias Rinku, Umesh alias Nahne, Arvinder Kumar (all from Uttar Pradesh), and Siyasaran Sahu alias Sibbu (Madhya Pradesh), were apprehended Thursday on Kankarola Road in Gurugram. Police investigations revealed that Brijesh knew Ashish and that a dispute over a mobile phone led to the altercation.
According to police, the accused confronted Ashish on the night of December 21st-22nd. Following an argument, Ashish was struck on the head with a brick, placed in his own autorickshaw, strangled with a muffler, and subsequently dumped in the green belt.
A case has been registered at the Sector-10 police station, and the investigation is ongoing. The arrested individuals are currently in custody.
