**Trichy, December 27, 2024:** Senior Congress leader S. Thirunavukkarasar has criticized Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai’s recent protests, describing them as resembling a “circus clown” and lacking substance. Speaking to reporters after paying tribute to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Trichy District Congress Committee office, Thirunavukkarasar lauded Singh’s economic policies.
He then turned his attention to Annamalai, questioning the effectiveness of his recent whip-wielding protests. Thirunavukkarasar suggested that Annamalai’s actions were being met with ridicule and urged the BJP leader, an IPS officer by training, to adopt a more mature and effective style of political engagement. He stated that Annamalai should focus on “quality politics” instead of what he termed “clownish” tactics. The Congress leader advised Annamalai that a change in approach would benefit him, his family, and his party.
