**Herzliya, Israel –** A suspected Palestinian attacker stabbed an 80-year-old woman to death in Herzliya, Israel, on Friday morning, according to Israeli police and medical officials. The attack occurred around 9:30 a.m. local time at De Shalit Square.
The victim was rushed to Tel Aviv’s Ichilov hospital with multiple stab wounds, but succumbed to her injuries despite resuscitation efforts. Emergency medical personnel provided initial treatment before evacuating her in critical condition.
Israeli police confirmed the attacker, a West Bank resident, was apprehended at the scene and is now in Shin Bet custody for questioning. The circumstances surrounding the attack remain under investigation. Tel Aviv District Commander Haim Sargaroff confirmed the attacker’s residency in the Palestinian territories.
This latest incident follows a string of attacks in Israel since the beginning of the Gaza war on October 7, 2024. According to AFP figures based on official Israeli reports, at least 31 people, including Israeli soldiers, have been killed in such attacks.
