**New Delhi, December 27, 2024** – Lieutenant-Governor V.K. Saxena has ordered the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to extend single-window camps for Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) beneficiaries until March 2025. The camps, initially held from November 30th to December 12th, aimed to simplify the process of obtaining ownership rights for residents of unauthorized colonies.

According to Raj Niwas officials, the eight-day camp saw significant progress. 152 conveyance deeds and authorization slips were issued, and 283 properties were registered, granting final ownership to their holders. A total of 19,313 applicants attended, with 3,599 being new registrations.

LG Saxena had previously raised concerns about bureaucratic hurdles, including red tape, inaccessibility, harassment, and resistance from the Delhi government’s Revenue Department, hindering the scheme’s effectiveness. The extension of the camps is intended to address these issues and ensure wider participation and successful implementation of the PM-UDAY scheme.
