Fri Dec 27 02:20:00 UTC 2024: ## MrBeast’s Controversial Game Show “Beast Games” Premieres on Prime Video Amidst Lawsuit

**Los Angeles, CA** – YouTube megastar MrBeast’s highly anticipated game show, “Beast Games,” launched Thursday on Amazon Prime Video. The series, boasting the “largest cash prize in game show history,” pits 1,000 contestants against each other in a series of grueling physical and mental challenges across ten weekly episodes, culminating in a $5 million prize, a private island, and Lamborghinis.

However, the show’s premiere is overshadowed by a significant legal battle. Five contestants filed a class-action lawsuit against MrBeast (James Donaldson) and Amazon in September, alleging workplace abuse including unsafe conditions, harassment, denial of food and sleep, and misclassification as volunteers to secure tax breaks. The suit also claims women faced severe embarrassment on set, and contestants weren’t subjected to background checks. A New York Times report from August echoed similar concerns regarding unsafe conditions. Neither MrBeast’s team nor Amazon has yet responded to requests for comment on the ongoing litigation.

Despite the controversy, “Beast Games” – described as a blend of “Squid Game,” “Fear Factor,” and “Survivor” – is already streaming on Prime Video. The first two episodes are available, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly through February 13th. Viewers will need an Amazon Prime subscription to access the series.

MrBeast, with over 337 million YouTube subscribers, is known for his extravagant videos featuring large-scale competitions and giveaways. This latest venture, however, faces significant scrutiny due to the serious allegations of mistreatment levelled against the production.
