NEW DELHI, Dec 26 (ANI) – India observed Veer Bal Diwas today, commemorating the sacrifice of the Sahibzades, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the tributes, praising their courage and unwavering faith in the face of adversity. In a social media post, he described their sacrifice as a shining example of valor and commitment to one’s values, inspiring generations. The Prime Minister also paid respects to Mata Gujri Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Several Chief Ministers also marked the occasion. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis offered floral tributes at his Mumbai residence, while Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath brought a copy of the Shri Guru Granth Sahib to his official residence. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted the immortal sacrifice of Baba Zorawar Singh ji and Baba Fateh Singh ji, emphasizing their bravery and dedication to the nation. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel served Langar at a Gurudwara.
Beyond the tributes, the Prime Minister also launched the Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan, a nationwide initiative focused on improving nutritional outcomes. The government also announced various programs to engage youth and promote awareness about the significance of Veer Bal Diwas.
