**NAMAKKAL, December 26, 2024** – Devotees in Namakkal district wishing to offer “annadhanam” (community meals) during upcoming Hanuman Jayanti (December 30th) and Vaikunta Ekadasi (January 10th, 2025) must register with the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department. This mandatory registration is to ensure compliance with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) guidelines.
A press release from Collector S. Uma specifies that only registered devotees will be permitted to provide food. The use of banned plastic bags is strictly prohibited; instead, eco-friendly alternatives like areca leaf and banana leaf plates are encouraged.
