**New Delhi, Dec 26, 2024** – The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and mobile app experienced a major outage on December 26th, leaving numerous users unable to book or cancel train tickets. The disruption, which began around 9:47 AM, resulted in thousands of outage reports on Downdetector.

A message on the IRCTC website attributed the problem to scheduled maintenance activities, stating that e-ticketing services were temporarily unavailable. This is the second such major outage this month, following a similar incident on December 9th.

Passengers needing to cancel tickets were advised to contact customer care numbers 14646, 08044647999, and 08035734999, or email etickets@irctc.co.in. However, the duration of the service disruption remains unclear.

The outage caused significant frustration among users, many of whom took to social media to express their concerns about the inability to book urgent tickets.
