Thu Dec 26 12:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Severe Storms Expected to Hit North Texas Thursday
**DALLAS –** North Texas residents should prepare for strong to severe thunderstorms Thursday, according to FOX 4 meteorologist Ali Turiano. The storms are projected to arrive in western areas around 8 a.m., sweeping through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and exiting eastern counties by 3 p.m.
The primary threat is quarter-sized hail and wind gusts potentially reaching 50 mph. A slight risk of tornadoes exists in areas well east and southeast of Dallas, including Navarro, Van Zandt, Henderson, Freestone, and Anderson counties, contingent on the development of surface-based storms.
Conditions are expected to dry out later in the day. Following Thursday’s stormy weather, a dry spell is anticipated for North Texas. Temperatures are forecast to reach the 70s by Sunday and Monday before a slight dip on Tuesday. Residents are urged to monitor weather updates via the FOX 4 weather app for live radar and the latest information.
