**COIMBATORE, December 26, 2024** – The Coimbatore Corporation has set an ambitious target of ₹470 crore in property tax collection for the current fiscal year. Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran has instructed all five zones and 100 wards to work towards achieving this goal.

As of December 2024, the corporation has already collected ₹241 crore, leaving a balance of ₹229 crore to be collected by March 31, 2025. This includes ₹147 crore in pending taxes, successfully recovered through a recent audit. The tax base has also expanded, with 6,451 new buildings added to the existing 14,847, contributing an additional ₹8.29 crore. Furthermore, 2,304 additional buildings generated ₹3.56 crore in revenue. The Commissioner expressed confidence in meeting the target.
