**Kochi, Kerala:** Filmmaker Sreekumar Menon has shared his memories of the late literary giant M.T. Vasudevan Nair, describing their relationship as that of a son and father. Menon revealed that he had sought permission to adapt M.T.’s epic novel *Randamoozham* at the author’s residence, “Sithara.”

However, Menon revealed that despite his best efforts, he was ultimately forced to abandon the project due to insurmountable budget constraints. He stated that to create the “world-class” film he envisioned, a budget of ₹500-600 crore wouldn’t suffice, needing a staggering ₹1000 crore. This budgetary hurdle, along with subsequent legal matters, led to the project’s cancellation. Menon expressed his deep regret at not being able to bring *Randamoozham* to the screen and affirmed his desire to see the novel adapted as a high-quality cinematic work in the future. He also shared that M.T. had expressed disappointment at the film’s failure to materialize.
