**London, December 26, 2024** – Mohanlal’s directorial debut and starring role in “Barroz,” based on a story by Jijo Punnoose, is receiving a wide European release. The film, which premiered in select European cinemas today, will be shown across multiple countries including the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Estonia, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Georgia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Czech Republic.
To promote the film’s release, RFT Films, the distributor, utilized a unique marketing strategy. A trailer-equipped vehicle toured London and its surrounding areas, showcasing the film’s trailer to the public. This unconventional approach was a “spectacle” for many, drawing considerable attention from local residents and Mohanlal’s many fans. Ronald Thondikka, owner of RFT Films, stated that this is a first-of-its-kind promotional campaign for an Indian film.
Early reports suggest “Barroz” is appealing to a family audience, making it a potential holiday treat for Malayali families and children across Europe during the Christmas and New Year period. The film is being shown in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.
“Barroz” boasts a stellar international cast alongside Mohanlal, including Maya, Caesar, and Laurent, and features music by Mark Killian, with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar, Lakshmi Sreekumar, Krishnudas (Malayalam), and Fernando Guerreiro and Miguel Guerrero (English).
