**USA TODAY** – With Christmas falling on a Wednesday this year, many are traveling and hosting holiday gatherings. For those needing a bite to eat on December 25th, several restaurants will remain open, though hours will vary widely by location.
Major chains like McDonald’s, Starbucks, Dunkin’, and Wendy’s will have some locations open, but consumers are urged to check their local restaurant’s hours via the company’s app or website before heading out. Taco Bell and Burger King will also have some open locations, again with hours varying. Subway, being independently owned, will also see varied hours.
IHOP will be open on Christmas, but with varying hours. Conversely, several chains will be closed entirely, including Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Cracker Barrel, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s, Bonefish Grill, Texas Roadhouse, Whataburger, and Chili’s. First Watch will also be closed for the holiday.
Applebee’s will see some open locations, but with reduced hours. Hooters will open from 4 p.m. to midnight (with a Kansas City exception for the Chiefs game), while Red Lobster and Fogo de Chão will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
