**VISAKHAPATNAM, December 25, 2024** – Visakhapatnam city police have made three more arrests in the ongoing Joy Jamima honeytrap case, bringing the total number of arrests to six. The latest arrests include Fatima Usman alias Joya, her husband Tanveer, and Avinash Benjamin, all apprehended in Hyderabad. The trio, allegedly crucial in supplying sedatives to the gang, were presented before a local court in Hyderabad, then transferred to Visakhapatnam and remanded to judicial custody for 15 days. They are now housed at Visakhapatnam Central Prison alongside the three previously arrested individuals: K. Joy Jamima, B. Venu Bhaskar Reddy, and Kishore Vemula.
The case, which came to light in October following a complaint from an NRI, involves a sophisticated operation where Jamima and her associates allegedly befriended wealthy men through social media, drugged them, and extorted money by threatening to release compromising photos. Further complaints have since been filed at Kancharapalem and Bheemunipatnam police stations. The police investigation continues.
