Wed Dec 25 15:49:37 UTC 2024: ## BJP MP Defends Allu Arjun Amidst Telangana Congress Backlash

**Hyderabad, India** – Tensions are escalating between the ruling Telangana Congress and the BJP following a stampede incident at the premiere of Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2.” BJP MP Anurag Thakur has voiced strong support for the Telugu actor, suggesting that attempts are being made to tarnish his image.

Thakur’s comments follow a series of actions by Telangana authorities, including questioning Allu Arjun by Hyderabad police in connection with the December 4th incident which resulted in one death and injuries to several others. The actor was later released on bail.

The BJP MP highlighted the significant contributions of Telugu cinema to Indian film, citing the global success of films like “RRR,” “Pushpa,” “KGF,” and “Baahubali.” He further emphasized the national recognition given to Arjun and other Telugu actors, including a National Award for Arjun and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Chiranjeevi, both under the BJP-led central government. Thakur criticized the Telangana Congress government for what he called politically motivated actions.

These criticisms follow a direct threat issued by Telangana Congress MLA Bhupathi Reddy. Reddy warned Allu Arjun to refrain from commenting on the Chief Minister, threatening to prevent the release of his films in the state if he continues. Reddy’s statement, delivered at a public meeting, described Arjun as an outsider who should “respect his position” and focus solely on acting.

The incident at Sandhya Theatre, where the stampede occurred, involved a large crowd gathering to see Arjun. While the child injured in the incident is now responding to treatment, the situation remains fraught with political implications. The BJP’s defense of Allu Arjun further intensifies the ongoing conflict between the state and central governments.
