Wed Dec 25 13:35:05 UTC 2024: ## Karnataka Congress Leader Defends Naming of Road After Siddaramaiah
**Mysuru, Dec 25, 2024** – Amidst controversy surrounding the naming of a KRS road section in Mysuru after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesperson H.A. Venkatesh defended the decision. Venkatesh claimed that even BJP and JD(S) leaders privately acknowledge Siddaramaiah’s contributions but oppose him publicly for political reasons.
Speaking at a calendar release event in Mysuru on Wednesday, Venkatesh argued that more than one road should be named after Siddaramaiah, suggesting the construction of a center dedicated to his four-decade-long political career and achievements. He also praised Home Minister G. Parameshwara for his efficient administration. The event was organized by the Akhila Karnataka Dr. G. Parameshwara Yuva Sena. Maddikere Gopal, president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat’s Mysuru district unit, was also present.
