**Kochi, Kerala:** Mohanlal’s highly anticipated directorial debut, “Barroz,” premiered on Christmas Day to overwhelmingly positive early reviews. Director Major Ravi, who saw the film with Mohanlal in Kochi, described it as a “classic,” praising its family-friendly appeal and visual spectacle.
“My eyes filled with tears,” Ravi shared. “It’s amazing to see someone with such talent direct a film. ‘Barroz’ is a classic, a film that the whole family, including children, can truly enjoy. It’s a film to be savored slowly.” He added that he left the theater with a positive and optimistic feeling.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, “Barroz” is based on a story by Jijo, director of India’s first 3D film, “My Dear Kuttichathan.” The film’s music is composed by the young prodigy Lidian Nadhaswaram, who won the American television channel CBS’s World’s Best Performer award. This marks Lidian’s debut in film.
Mohanlal not only directed but also stars in the film as the titular character, Barroz. The cinematography is by Santosh Sivan. The film, released in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, had strong advance bookings, indicating high audience anticipation.
