**Mumbai, December 23, 2024** – Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has been admitted to Akruti Hospital in Bhiwandi, Thane district, after experiencing a health deterioration. The 52-year-old was brought to the hospital by a fan who also owns the facility. While initially presenting with symptoms of a urinary infection and cramps, further examinations revealed blood clots in his brain. His condition is currently reported as stable.

Kambli, who played for India between 1993 and 2000, recently attended the inauguration of legendary coach Ramakant Achrekar’s memorial, appearing frail at the event. He has reportedly been battling health issues for some time.

Dr. Vivek Trivedi, Kambli’s treating physician, confirmed the presence of brain clots and stated that additional medical examinations are scheduled for Tuesday. The hospital has offered Kambli lifelong free treatment.
