**Thane, Maharashtra –** Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has been admitted to a hospital in Thane after his health deteriorated significantly on Saturday. While his condition is currently reported as stable, it remains critical, according to sources close to the family. Kambli was rushed to Aakruti Hospital in Thane where he is receiving treatment.

Kambli, 52, recently appeared at a memorial event for his coach Ramakant Achrekar in Mumbai alongside Sachin Tendulkar. Even then, his frail appearance raised concerns about his health.

Kambli had a notable international career, debuting in ODIs in 1991 and playing his last in 2000. He retired from international cricket in 2009 and first-class cricket in 2011. His impressive career included 17 Test matches and 104 One Day Internationals, showcasing his prowess as a left-handed batsman. He scored 1084 Test runs at an average of 54.20 and 2477 ODI runs at an average of 32.59.

He last coached a team in 2019, during the Mumbai T20 League. Beyond his cricketing life, Kambli has been married twice and has two children.
