**Mumbai, India** – Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli is recovering after a recent health scare that saw him hospitalized with brain clots. The 52-year-old, who played for India between 1993 and 2000, was admitted to Akruti Hospital in Thane after experiencing a health deterioration, reportedly helped by a fan. Doctors confirmed the presence of clots in his brain, but Kambli is now reported to be improving. Hospital authorities have pledged lifelong free treatment for Kambli.
Kambli expressed his gratitude to his childhood friend and fellow cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar for his support and blessings. The two shared an emotional reunion recently at the inauguration of their former coach Ramakant Achrekar’s memorial. “I am feeling better now… I will never leave this (cricket),” Kambli stated, adding that he is thankful for Tendulkar’s blessings.
In a separate interview, Kambli also disclosed battling a recent urine infection that contributed to his collapse. He credited his family and friend, former cricketer Ajay Jadeja, for their unwavering support during his recovery. Further medical examinations are scheduled for Kambli this week.
