**Hyderabad, India (December 24, 2024)** – Telangana’s Industries and IT Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, met with a Malaysian trade delegation on Monday to discuss investment opportunities in the state. The meeting, facilitated by the Malaysia Telangana Association, focused on attracting Malaysian investment in solar power, dry ports, advanced sewage treatment plants, and support for women entrepreneurs.

Minister Babu highlighted Telangana’s investment-friendly policies and the conducive environment for sectors like electric vehicle manufacturing. He emphasized the potential for enhanced bilateral trade, particularly in palm oil cultivation and tourism. Specific proposals included Malaysian collaboration on upgrading sewage treatment plants in Hyderabad, developing two new dry ports, and transforming Kinnerasani and Srisailam backwaters into tourist resorts.

The minister also sought Malaysian support for Telangana’s 6.4 million women self-help group members, suggesting an exhibition in Malaysia to showcase their products. Opportunities in the food processing sector were also presented to the delegation. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao further urged Malaysia to provide palm oil seeds or establish nurseries in Telangana. The delegation’s visit was a direct result of an invitation extended by Minister Babu during a recent trip to Malaysia. The meeting was attended by several other Telangana ministers and officials.
