**KASARAGOD, KERALA – December 24, 2024** – The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] is preparing for its Kasaragod district conference, scheduled for February 5-7, 2025. The event, part of the party’s 23rd Congress, will feature prominent leaders and culminate in a large public rally and march expected to draw over 50,000 attendees.
CPI(M) district secretary M.V. Balakrishnan announced the details, highlighting the conference’s significance following the successful completion of numerous lower-level party conferences across the district. The conference will be inaugurated by Polit Bureau member A. Vijayaraghavan, with other key leaders like E.P. Jayarajan, P.K. Sreemathy, and P.P. Ramakrishnan also in attendance.
Balakrishnan emphasized the party’s recent electoral successes, including regaining control of the district panchayat. A series of preparatory events are planned, including a Flag Day on January 15, seminars, competitions, and a district-wide waste management drive. The conference will also address key issues such as gender justice, the knowledge economy, and communalism.
