**Agartala, December 24, 2024** – Senior CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat will inaugurate the party’s 24th Tripura State conference in Agartala on December 29th, a party leader announced Tuesday. The three-day conference, taking place at the Town Hall from December 29th to 31st, will see the participation of Prakash Karat and politburo member Brinda Karat.

A rally at Vivekananda ground will precede the conference, featuring addresses from Mr. Karat and other senior party figures. CPI(M) Tripura secretary Jitendra Chowdhury stated that the party has concluded preparatory conferences at the branch, local, divisional, and district levels. With over 4,000 branches, 300 local committees, 24 divisional committees, and eight district committees across Tripura, the party is poised for the state-level meeting.

The conference will focus on Tripura’s political, social, and economic landscape, culminating in the formulation of the party’s future roadmap. The CPI(M) governed Tripura for 35 years in two separate terms (1978-1988 and 1993-2018) before losing power to the BJP-IPFT coalition in the 2018 Assembly elections.
