Tue Dec 24 10:56:01 UTC 2024: ## Election Commission Rejects Congress Claims of Voter Fraud in Maharashtra

**New Delhi, December 24, 2024** – The Election Commission of India (ECI) has dismissed allegations of voter manipulation in the recently concluded Maharashtra Assembly elections. Responding to concerns raised by the Indian National Congress, the ECI stated that there were no unauthorized additions or deletions of voters.

The ECI explained that discrepancies between preliminary 5 PM voter turnout figures and final data are normal due to the aggregation process. They emphasized that the final voter turnout figures are verifiable through Form 17C, which is available to candidate representatives at polling stations immediately after the polls close. The commission asserted that altering the final voter turnout is impossible.

The ECI further clarified that the electoral roll preparation adhered to established procedures, with Congress representatives participating in the process. They denied any irregular patterns in voter deletions. The commission attributed any minor discrepancies to the inherent complexities of data collection and aggregation.
