**KOCHI, December 24, 2024** – A 43-year-old security guard, Kamalesh from Uttar Pradesh, was killed on Tuesday morning when he was struck by the Golden Chariot, a luxury tourist train, near Vathuruthy along the Harbour Terminus line. Kamalesh was reportedly returning home from his night shift at the Naval Base when the accident occurred around 9 a.m. The train, carrying tourists from Karnataka, was in operation at the time.
Railway officials confirmed the Harbour Terminus line was active and warned against trespassing on railway property. Kamalesh’s body was taken to Ernakulam General Hospital. The incident highlights the ongoing dangers of trespassing on railway tracks.
