Mon Dec 23 19:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Two CoBRA Commandos Injured in Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounter
**Raipur, Chhattisgarh – December 24, 2024** – Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) commandos from the elite CoBRA unit were injured in a firefight with Naxalites in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, on Monday. The incident occurred at a newly established forward operating base (FOB) in a remote jungle area.
The injured commandos, from the 206th battalion, were swiftly transported to a nearby medical facility and are reported to be in stable condition. Officials stated that the troops effectively retaliated against the Naxal attack.
The FOB, belonging to the 241st battalion and situated near Chintalnar Police Station, was set up just the previous day. The CRPF has been aggressively establishing numerous FOBs throughout the deep jungles of south Bastar in an effort to combat Maoist insurgency. Over 40 such bases have been established in Chhattisgarh within the past two years.
This incident comes as the Union government aims to eradicate the Naxal menace nationwide by March 2026.
