Mon Dec 23 15:27:36 UTC 2024: ## Telangana Ex-CM Rao and Nephew Challenge Lower Court Ruling in Criminal Case
**Hyderabad, December 23, 2024** – Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his nephew, former Cabinet Minister T. Harish Rao, have approached the High Court to overturn a lower court’s decision allowing a criminal revision petition against them. The petition, filed by a 46-year-old farmer, Nagavelli Rajalingamurthy, accuses the two leaders of criminal conspiracy under Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
Rajalingamurthy initially filed a private complaint with a lower court, which dismissed it due to lack of jurisdiction. However, the Principal Sessions Judge (PSJ) of Jayashankar Bhupalpally subsequently deemed the farmer’s subsequent revision petition admissible.
Rao and Harish Rao are now challenging this PSJ order, seeking its suspension pending the hearing of their own criminal petition. The High Court will now consider their appeal.
