**COIMBATORE, December 23, 2024** – Three young men, including an IT professional, were arrested in Coimbatore on Sunday for possessing an unlicensed pistol and ammunition. The Anti-Terrorist Squad intercepted the trio – Manikandaprabu (22), Harisri (23), and Kunthanrai (22) – during a routine vehicle check. Police seized a country-made pistol, six rounds of ammunition, their mobile phones, and the motorcycle they were riding.
The men, who were remanded in judicial custody, are being charged under Section 3 (read with) 25 (IB) (A) of the Arms Act. Police investigations suggest this was their first offense. Further details regarding the purpose of possessing the weapon are under investigation.
