**Madurai, December 23, 2024** – Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials in Madurai conducted a surprise raid on the office of a Water Resources Department (WRD) official on Monday, seizing ₹1.11 lakh in unaccounted cash. The raid targeted P. Syed Habeeb, Assistant Executive Engineer at the Periyar Vaigai basin subdivision office. The DVAC acted on prior information and is currently conducting a further investigation into the matter.
