Sun Dec 22 03:10:00 UTC 2024: **Megan Thee Stallion Seeks Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez for Continued Harassment from Prison**

LOS ANGELES, CA – Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has filed a request for a restraining order against Tory Lanez, alleging continued harassment despite his 10-year prison sentence for shooting her in 2020. The petition, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims Lanez is using third parties, including bloggers, to spread false information and further victimize her.

The filing alleges that these surrogates, acting on Lanez’s behalf, are casting doubt on Megan Thee Stallion’s account of the shooting, making false claims about missing evidence. This follows an October lawsuit filed by Megan Thee Stallion against blogger Milagro Gramz for allegedly spreading misinformation on Lanez’s behalf, including sharing deepfake pornography.

The petition highlights what it calls a flaw in the criminal justice system, stating that a previous protective order is no longer in effect, leaving Megan Thee Stallion vulnerable to continued harassment. Lanez, currently incarcerated in Tehachapi, California, was convicted in December 2022 on three felony charges related to the shooting. His lawyers are appealing the conviction.

A court hearing on the restraining order is scheduled for January 9th. Lanez’s legal team has yet to respond to requests for comment. The case has drawn significant attention, raising complex issues of online harassment, victim blaming, and the unique challenges faced by Black women in the justice system.
