Sat Dec 21 23:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Lizzo Breaks Silence on Lawsuits, Maintains Innocence

**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Singer Lizzo is speaking out for the first time since being hit with two separate lawsuits alleging sexual harassment and a hostile work environment. In a recent interview on the *Baby, This Is Keke Palmer* podcast, Lizzo vehemently denied all allegations, stating she was “blindsided” by the claims and maintains her innocence.

Three former dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, filed a lawsuit in August 2023 alleging sexual, religious, and racial harassment, along with assault and false imprisonment. The lawsuit included claims of weight-shaming, pressure to participate in nude photoshoots, and an incident at an Amsterdam club. Lizzo’s dance captain, Shirlene Quigley, is also named as a defendant in this lawsuit, which is currently under review by the Court of Appeal. A hearing is scheduled for January 14, 2025.

Separately, clothing designer Asha Daniels filed a lawsuit against Lizzo, her production company, and several employees, alleging racial and sexual harassment. However, earlier this month, a judge dismissed Lizzo from Daniels’ lawsuit, stating Daniels lacked standing to sue her. Lizzo’s touring company remains a defendant in this case. Lizzo called this dismissal a “big victory,” vowing to fight the remaining claims until they are dismissed.

Lizzo’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However, the attorney for the dancers, Ron Zambrano, issued a statement reiterating that the lawsuit against Lizzo remains active and that they are prepared to present their evidence in court. He criticized Lizzo’s podcast appearance, stating she failed to appreciate the power dynamic between boss and employee.

While acknowledging the impact of the lawsuits, Lizzo insisted she is not on hiatus and is currently working on a new album, using her music to process the experience. She described the situation as a difficult aspect of fame, adding that “People now will just believe anything bad about you.”
