HYDERABAD, INDIA – The Telangana state government has announced financial assistance to the family of Revathi, who died in a stampede outside Sandhya Theater during the premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule.” Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that the government will provide ₹25 lakh (approximately $30,000 USD) to the bereaved family.
The minister also declared a ban on benefit shows before movie releases in Telangana and stated that there will be no permission for increased ticket prices. He criticized actor Allu Arjun for failing to fulfill a promise to provide compensation to the family of a boy seriously injured in the stampede, adding that the government will cover the medical expenses for the injured boy, Sreetej.
The incident, which resulted in Revathi’s death and serious injuries to others, has prompted the government to take decisive action to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
