**Culver City, CA** – Apple TV+ has renewed its hit comedic murder-mystery series, “Bad Monkey,” for a second season, Variety has confirmed. The show, starring Vince Vaughn as disgraced Miami police officer turned health inspector Andrew Yancy, premiered in August and quickly gained a dedicated fanbase.

Season 1, based on Carl Hiaasen’s novel of the same name, followed Yancy’s investigation into a severed human arm found by tourists in the Florida Keys, a case that promises his return to police work. While a sequel novel exists, Apple has confirmed that Season 2 will not adapt “Razor Girl.”

Showrunner and executive producer Bill Lawrence expressed his excitement about continuing the series, praising Hiaasen’s work and the cast, including L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, and Jodie Turner-Smith. John Ortiz, Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn, and Charlotte Lawrence also appeared in Season 1.

Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+’s head of programming, lauded the show’s popularity and described the upcoming season as promising “more hilarious, sun-soaked, beachy misadventures.” The series is produced by Doozer Productions and Warner Bros. Television. This marks Lawrence’s third series with Apple TV+, following the successful “Ted Lasso” and the recently renewed “Shrinking.” Vaughn also serves as an executive producer on “Bad Monkey.”
