Sat Dec 21 21:28:07 UTC 2024: ## Punjab’s Anmolpreet Singh Shatters Indian List A Century Record

**Ahmedabad, India** – Anmolpreet Singh of Punjab created history in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, smashing the fastest-ever List A century for an Indian player. His blistering 115 runs off just 45 deliveries, including a century in a mere 35 balls, eclipsed Yusuf Pathan’s 15-year-old record of a 40-ball century.

Chasing a modest 165 against Arunachal Pradesh at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Anmolpreet, batting at number three, launched a brutal assault. His innings, featuring twelve fours and nine sixes, propelled Punjab to victory in just 77 deliveries. He partnered with Prabhsimran Singh (35 off 25) to secure a resounding win.

Anmolpreet’s whirlwind knock is only surpassed by two other players in List A 50-over history: Jake Fraser-McGurk (29 balls) and AB de Villiers (31 balls). The performance serves as a strong statement after he went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Arunachal Pradesh’s Techi Neri bore the brunt of Anmolpreet’s power, conceding 31 runs in a single over.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Mumbai captain Shreyas Iyer also impressed with a quickfire unbeaten 114 off 55 balls against Karnataka at the Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground.
