**Chennai, December 21, 2024** – Opposition AIADMK leaders have accused the Tamil Nadu government of corruption in the procurement of tur dal and palm oil. O. Panneerselvam, coordinator of the ADMK Workers’ Rights Retrieval Committee, claimed that firms failing quality checks were selected by the State Civil Supplies Corporation due to “top-level pressure.” The tender involved 60,000 tonnes of tur dal and six crore litres of palm oil. Panneerselvam has called for Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s intervention.

Separately, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and AMMK general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran criticized the state’s law and order situation following the killing of a youth in a Tirunelveli court. They demanded swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
