**Hubli, Karnataka – December 21, 2024** – A nine-month pregnant woman was brutally murdered in Belagavi district, Karnataka, on Friday. Suvarna Mahanthayya Mathapathi, 36, was attacked with a sickle while returning from a farm in Chikkoda village, Athani taluk. Passersby discovered her profusely bleeding from head, face, and stomach injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital by her husband, Mahanthayya, she was declared dead on arrival. The couple had four children and were expecting their fifth in January 2025. Police have registered a case and are investigating, but no suspects have been named by the family.
