**ERODE, Tamil Nadu – December 21, 2024** – The Erode South District Congress Committee has called on the Tamil Nadu government to rename Mettur Road in Erode city after E.V.K.S. Elangovan, the late Congress MLA for Erode (East) who passed away on December 14th.

Following a condolence meeting where a two-minute silence was observed, the committee passed a resolution proposing the renaming of the road section connecting G.H. Roundabout and Sathy Road to E.V.K.S. Elangovan Road. The move is intended as a tribute to the deceased legislator.
