**London, UK** – Disney’s latest cinematic offering, *Mufasa: The Lion King*, a live-action prequel to the beloved animated classic, has arrived in theaters. Directed by Barry Jenkins (*Moonlight*), the film explores the origins of Simba’s father, Mufasa, from cub to king of Pride Rock.

The movie stars Aaron Pierre as Mufasa, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka (young Scar), and features the voice talents of Tiffany Boone as young Sarabi and Blue Ivy Carter as Kiara, Simba’s daughter. While the film stands alone, familiarity with the original *Lion King* enhances the viewing experience, as the narrative is framed by flashbacks recounted by Rafiki to Kiara. The film also features brief appearances and voice work from the cast of the 2019 live-action remake. A posthumous dedication to the late James Earl Jones, the original voice of Mufasa, includes a poignant opening narration.

Director Jenkins collaborated with Lin-Manuel Miranda on the soundtrack, resulting in a score that seamlessly integrates with the film’s narrative. Tiffany Boone shared that her involvement in the film gave her a newfound empathy for Scar. The film has received a PG rating in the UK.

*Mufasa: The Lion King* is currently playing in cinemas.
