**Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala –** The Kerala government has launched an inquiry into an incident where a Class VII student was bitten by a venomous snake at an aided school in Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram. The incident occurred during Christmas celebrations on Friday, December 20, 2024.

The student was immediately taken to a nearby government hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. General Education Minister V. Sivankutty announced the inquiry on Saturday, instructing the Director of General Education to submit a report as soon as possible. The investigation will determine the circumstances surrounding the snake’s presence in the classroom.
