**Kalaburagi, Karnataka –** Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge on Saturday strongly criticized the BJP for its reaction to the High Court’s order releasing legislator C.T. Ravi, who was arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar. Kharge dismissed BJP claims of a “triumph of justice” and an “abashment” to the Congress, stating that the upcoming Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report would reveal the truth.

He accused the BJP of supporting Ravi’s offensive remarks and exhibiting arrogance by remaining silent instead of condemning them. Kharge further criticized BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra’s response, calling it an insult to women. He pointed to Vijayendra’s statement referencing bangles, and highlighted the BJP’s inaction against other MLAs facing serious accusations.

Regarding allegations of police harassment against Ravi, Kharge stated that the police acted within standard procedure. He accused the BJP of engaging in “vindictive politics” and dismissed their allegations against the Congress.

Finally, commenting on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Kharge emphasized the importance of embracing Ambedkar’s principles to achieve a life of dignity and self-respect.
