Sat Dec 21 12:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Chilly Christmas Weekend Predicted for Volusia and Flagler Counties
**DAYTONA BEACH, FL** – Residents of Volusia and Flagler counties are advised to break out their scarves this weekend as a cold front sweeps through the region, bringing a taste of Christmas chill. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will plummet overnight Friday into Saturday, with lows in the 40s expected in both counties. Highs will remain in the upper 50s to low 60s on Saturday and Sunday.
Meteorologist Ben Nelson of the Jacksonville National Weather Service office described the weather as a “Christmas feel,” though he emphasized the cold snap will be short-lived. By Christmas Day, temperatures are forecast to rebound into the 70s in Flagler County and the mid-70s in Volusia County, a return to more typical, albeit still mild by Florida standards, holiday weather.
While Saturday morning will see the coldest temperatures, a gradual warming trend is expected throughout Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 60s. While not a harsh winter, residents are encouraged to prepare for a brief period of cooler-than-usual conditions this weekend.
