Sat Dec 21 03:43:15 UTC 2024: **21-Year-Old Achieves 99.99 Percentile in CAT 2024, Aims for IIM Ahmedabad**
AHMEDABAD, INDIA – Dhruthi Mehta, a 21-year-old engineering student, has achieved a remarkable 99.99 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024. This exceptional score places her among the top candidates vying for admission to prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), with IIM Ahmedabad being her top choice.
Mehta, who is currently pursuing electrical engineering at IIT Bombay, juggled her demanding academic schedule with CAT preparation, starting in November 2023. She opted for online preparation, citing the convenience of revisiting lectures as crucial to her success. While her engineering background provided a strong foundation in the Quantitative Aptitude section, she dedicated significant effort to mastering Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, using online tutoring and consistent practice tests.
Remarkably, only one other female candidate scored 99.99 percentile this year, and only one female candidate out of 14 achieved a perfect 100 percentile. Mehta’s academic success is attributed to her lifelong passion for learning, nurtured by her educated parents – her father an MBA in finance and her mother a homeopathic doctor. She previously excelled in the JEE Advanced examination, securing her place at IIT Bombay.
Mehta’s achievement is a testament to her dedication and perseverance. She hopes to leverage her exceptional CAT score to pursue her MBA aspirations at IIM Ahmedabad.
