**Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu –** Construction of a ₹37 crore glass bridge connecting the Thiruvalluvar statue and the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari is progressing rapidly, set to be inaugurated on December 30th. The bridge’s completion coincides with the silver jubilee celebrations of the 134-foot-tall Thiruvalluvar statue, a three-day event planned from December 30th to January 1st, expecting around 12,000 attendees.
Tamil Nadu Public Works Minister E.V. Velu, who inspected the ongoing construction and celebratory preparations, confirmed Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will attend the inauguration. The event will include cultural programs and welfare initiatives.
Extensive traffic management plans are in place, including seven additional parking facilities accommodating 1,500 vehicles, to handle the influx of visitors, particularly considering the ongoing Sabarimala season. Authorities have assured that no restrictions will be placed on shopkeepers or visitors. Increased police presence will ensure public safety and a smooth event.
